New Wix AI-Powered Platform Promises Speedy E-Commerce Website Creation

On Monday, plans were unveiled for the introduction of a new AI website generator that claims to expedite e-commerce companies’ capacity to develop an online presence. AI Site Generator, developed by Wix, will be released with a suite of AI-powered tools that the firm claims would expedite the whole website-building, design, and administration process. “Often, the issue with website projects is the client’s or the site’s expert’s inability to adequately communicate and understand the project,” said Rob Enderle, president and senior analyst at the.

Eric Lessman, co-founder of Bluecap, a website design firm in Joplin, Missouri, believed that the Wix AI Site Generator may help a company get a website to market quicker. The minimum viable product, or MVP, is a product with the most basic capabilities that early adopters may use to test an idea, get user feedback, and verify a concept before investing in full-fledged development.

Importance of Customization

When it is introduced, Wix customers will be able to express their objective and quickly produce a professonal and unique website. The custom website will include a homepage as well as all inner  pages with content, photos, and any business solution, such as shops, bookings, restaurants, events, and so on. Users may continue to alter and update the site using the embedded AI tools. Customization  is  an  essential component of automation solutions such as AI Site Generator. “Customization  can make  or  break how long people or businesses will stay with a platform,” Lessman said. “As a business grows,  e-commerce solutions will require customization and expansion.” According to Drew Mansur, co-founder   and director of TileCloud, an online-only  tile business,  customization  is critical to  establishing  a  website that resonates with a brand and engages consumers.

“Having control over the design, layout, and user experience allows you to create a unique online presence that resonates with your target audience,” he said to the E-Commerce Times. “I can imagine how AI-powered website generation could help businesses achieve that without manual coding and design work, saving time and effort,” he said. “If we were to use AI Site Generator for TileCloud,” he went on, “we’d  need it to enable us to tailor the website to align with our business goals, target audience, and industry requirements.”

Bevy of AI Tools

Wix will also introduce the following features to its platform, in addition to AI Site Generator: An AI assistant tool that will recommend changes for organizations, develop personalized plans based on analytics and site patterns, and simplify day-to-day activities. An AI page and section maker, which will produce the layout, design, and content of new website pages or sections depending on user input; and An object eraser, which can remove topics from photographs and alter them flawlessly.

Wix will incorporate the new functionality into an existing robust AI platform. They are as follows: An AI text maker that combines Wix’s site development skills with ChatGPT to allow users to produce customised copy for certain portions of a website, such as tailored titles, taglines, and paragraphs;
After selecting a template and writing a prompt briefly explaining the online site, AI template text maker may generate text for the complete site, including the front page and inner pages. An AI domain generator that generates a list of probable domain names to assist customers in selecting the best name for their brand.

Small Business Woes

Small companies who are currently struggling with their web presence may find Wix’s solutions quite intriguing. More than a quarter of small companies (27%) do not have a website, according to a 2022 study of 1,003 small businesses performed by Top Design Firms, a portal for locating creative professionals. Those that do mention limited traffic, adding additional features, and the price of developing and maintaining a website as key hurdles. “Developing an effective e-commerce website can be challenging for small businesses — like we were — due to limited resources, technical expertise, and budget constraints,” Mansur remarked. Enderle noted that e-commerce knowledge might be a challenge for small enterprises.

“The small business owner often doesn’t understand technology and hasn’t fully thought out what their needs and requirements are,” he noted. Lessman stated that the e-commerce obstacles for a small firm might vary greatly depending on what it wants to offer online. What about payment processing? Email marketing campaigns? Emails for transactions? Problems with your user account? There are several factors to consider.” “Then there’s management,” he said. “Whose responsibility is it once it’s built?” Who do you contact if a component of the sales process fails? Sometimes the solutions to these issues aren’t so obvious.

Intelligent Website Development

According to Lessman, using AI into e-commerce sites would provide operators more control over the growth of their sites and enable them to better integrate content. It can also help with schema markup. Mansur believes that as AI technology advances, it has the potential to improve automation in website building by producing intelligent design ideas, enhancing user experience, and speeding content production.

“Current generative AI platforms are far more capable of taking past experiences into account to improve the outcome of current experiences,” Enderle remarked. “Previous tools could not learn by doing. AI can. That implies the tool will improve far faster and be significantly superior out of the box than prior automation technologies.”
